I like this ink a lot. I believe it is the same as the black that comes in the Pilot cartridges. If there's a difference, I haven't noticed. I like it for everyday use where water cleanup is desirable, and I also enjoy drawing with it and then 'melting parts of the drawing with a water brush. The bottle is very cool, and the plastic cone insert makes it possible to get all of the ink out of the bottom.
What is there to say, really? This is the perfect black ink. Warm charcoal, a fine grey in the lighter parts of strokes. Dark and easily legible. Extraordinarily professional. Nice wetness, dries quick, and highlights beautifully (no alarming smearing like with some average pens). The paragon of fountain pen inks.
This was my first bottle of Namiki ink. I have other brands of black ink but this is a rich color and it works well in a fine nib and would be a great addition to anyone's ink collection. I think you will not be disappointed.

This is a great workhorse ink, has good flow in every pen I put in and worked well in any paper I used the ink in, has a small amount of shading that I find gives a much needed personality to a otherwise "boring" black ink.Great ink
