This year brought incredible excitement for fountain pen enthusiasts, with over 300 individual product launches bringing us some truly standout designs and innovative features. From bold colors to fresh functionalities, there was no shortage of exciting releases. With so many standout releases, narrowing down the best of the best wasn’t easy. Here’s a countdown of the top 10 fountain pens of the year, complete with some honorable mentions along the way. Let’s dive in!
10. Sheaffer Coffee Edition
Sheaffer made a strong comeback this year after years off the radar, reintroducing us to their line of pens with a fresh approach. The standout? The Coffee Edition, featuring a stunning dark-to-light brown ombre satin finish. Originally introduced on the Sheaffer 100 model and later adapted for the VFM, this design was a hot seller and a unique addition to their portfolio. With prices ranging from $38 to $52, Sheaffer’s offerings are both accessible and well-received. Here’s hoping they keep the momentum going in 2025!
9. Kaweco Piston Sport
Kaweco’s iconic pocket pen, the Kaweco Sport, received a major upgrade this year with the introduction of a piston-filling mechanism. Available in aluminum (AL-Sport) and resin (Classic Sport), these pens retain their classic compact design but have an added blind cap, an ink window, and increased ink capacity. Prices range from $75 to $175, but the reception in the pen community has been overwhelmingly positive. We can’t wait to see if more colors join the lineup next year.

2. BENU Euphoria – Matcha Latte & Rose Tea
The BENU Euphoria in Matcha Latte and Rose Tea pens wowed with their unique designs and materials. Part of the Goulet-exclusive Refreshment collection, these pens feature real tea and matcha infusions in the resin. The Matcha Latte’s swirl of olive green and white and the Rose Tea’s delicate pink with visible tea leaves made these pens instant favorites.
Honorable Mentions
While this list highlights the top 10, it wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the limited edition LAMY 2000 in Pine, a gorgeous and highly sought-after release. It features a matte green fiberglass body, brushed stainless steel grip, and a hooded rhodium-plated 14k gold nib.
