Spaccanapoli, one of the oldest and most iconic streets in Naples, Italy, is not only a place rich in history and culture, but also a source of inspiration for artists and creatives. From this breathtaking backdrop, this exclusive collection of writing instruments is born, each reflecting the essence and spirit of Spaccanapoli. These pens are not simple writing instruments, but true pieces of art, designed to capture the lively atmosphere and unique hues of the city of Naples.

This Delta Spaccanapoli fountain pen was handturned from a single bar of flecked blue resin. It features a silver clip with a roller, and elegant trim rings with a subtle orange accent.

It is fitted with a standard international converter and also accepts standard international ink cartridges. The stainless steel #6 fountain pen nib is made by the German brand JoWo. In addition to several standard nib sizes, there is also a flex nib variant that allows you to alter the line thickness by varying the pressure applied to the nib.

Delta, the renowned Italian pen brand that has been creating stunning and distinct pens since the 1980s, has made a triumphant return after it ceased operations in the 2010s. This new Delta brand has been personally revitalized by Nino Marino, one of Delta's co-founders who also owns and manages Maiora and Nettuno pen brands. Each pen is handmade in Naples, Italy, and is individually numbered.

Looking for a pen to supplement my Leonardo MZ. Prefer the Leonardo as it fits better in hand and is an ideal weight. The Delta case is beautiful but the feel of the pen in hand and response of the nib (M) is just average. The number of cap turns to close the pen are too many and there isn’t the feel of a certain stopping point which may cause one to over tighten and possibly stress the cap. The Delta is a nice fall back pen for taking out and about for note taking.

The Best All-around

Perfect craftsmanship, the pen body, the converter, and the nib.
Very Beautiful, it reminds me of the deep Tyrrhenian Sea between Sardinia and the west coast of Italy. The pen just slides on the paper, and the 1.1 mm nib makes almost any handwriting look smooth. I'm considering buying the Terre with the Flex Fine nib. Worth every penny.

Wonderful Pen

The Delta Spaccanapoli is a great pen. While nice looking, it is in no way loud. Even the accent rings and silver emblem on the top of the cap are attractive without being ostentatious. I could see this pen at home in an office setting without any trouble.

The whole pen is well made and solid. The pen is a good size in the barrel, without being what I would consider large. It fits my hand very well, and I can write with it posted or unposted without any issues either way. The pen is light, but it does not feel fragile or cheap. The resin is smooth without being slippery feeling. For those who do not like the feel of threads, the threading on my pen is barely noticeable due to how well they have been turned.

I got the Spaccanapoli with a fine nib, and it is a joy to write with. While being a fine, it is smooth and does not want for ink flow.

As always, the Goulet purchasing and shipping process was wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about this company.

FAQs about Fountain Pens

How do I fill a fountain pen with ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It depends on the pen's filling mechanism, which you can find in the Technical Specs section above.

Here's a quick definition of the most common filling mechanisms:

  • Cartridge - A small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write! Check out our quick guide here.
  • Converter - A detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter. Here's a video for how to fill a cartridge/converter pen using a LAMY pen as an example.
  • Eyedropper - A pen that utilizes the entire barrel as a reservoir for ink. Ink is directly filled into the barrel, allowing for a high ink capacity. Here's a video on how to do it!
  • Piston - A type of filling system that uses a retracting plunger inside a sealed tube to draw ink into a pen. They are typically either twist or push-operated. These pens cannot accept cartridges or a converter, and only fill from bottled ink.
  • Vacuum - A push-style piston that uses pressure to fill the large pen body with ink. They seal the ink chamber when closed, making it ideal for flying without risk of leaking. Check out our video on how to use a vac filler here.

How do I clean a fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It depends on the filling mechanism, but it mostly comes down to flushing it out with water, and sometimes a little bit of Pen Flush if the ink is really stuck.

It's a bit easier to show than to tell, so we've put together a few quick videos showing you the process:

How often do I need to clean my fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors.

Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.

My pen won’t write! What do I do? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

First things first... make sure you have ink in the pen! Be sure that the ink cartridge or converter is seated properly in the pen, and that you aren't out of ink.

We always recommend you give your pen a good cleaning first, using our Goulet Pen Flush, or a drop of dish soap in some water. New pens often have some machining oil residue left in the feed, so a good cleaning often does the trick first.

If that still doesn't work, try priming the feed. This consists of either dipping your pen nib and feed in ink, or forcing ink from the converter down into the feed.

If it’s still not working after that, please reach out to us so we can help!
