Very little feathering indeed!

I've been using my TWSBI Eco every day for seven years and this might be one of the best waterproof inks I've put in my pen. The color is a little boring (I like bright, vibrant blues) but it is a real pleasure to write with! Most of the paper I write on is low quality (copier handouts, spiral notebooks, legal pads) and this does really well with those. As a marine scientist, the waterproof aspect is important but most other inks bleed too much.

X-Feather Blue

Ever-so-slightly wetter than X-Feather Black (but not a wet ink). Overall a great performer, even on terrible office paper. Will definitely put in permanent rotation for everyday use!

Good ink, but very slow dry time

This ink looks pretty, (although it seems to be a bit more purple) and holds up to its claim of being a low feathering ink. Although one thing that annoys me greatly is the dry time on it is absurd, if you plan on journaling a lot with it I would not recommend it. As I ended up smudging the ink quite a lot or straight up stopping to wait for the ink to dry. For this alone, I would not buy this ink.

Great color

Love the color and tried several papers and no feathering. Better to me than the black

Great everyday ink!

This is now my everyday carry ink. It's well behaved on everything but the cheapest notebook paper (even in a 1.1mm stub), waterproof, dries relatively quickly, and looks quite professional with a sharp dark blue appearance. It's everything I was looking for and I'm buying another bottle today.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
