The iconic Visconti Opera Master returns to the collection in a version made in collaboration with Jonathon Brooks, a color called: Stargazer.

This fountain pen features a vibrant swirly green body and cap with hints of blue. The beloved Ponte Vecchio bridge clip features a sparkling teal enamel to accent the Visconti name. It is accented with palladium trim.

This Visconti Opera Master Stargazer fountain pen is limited to only 88, each individually numbered. It uses an oversized 18k white gold nib made in-house, closes via the 'hook safe lock', and fills via the double reservoir power filler.

'Double Reservoir' Power Filler: A vacuum filling system that is easy to use and has considerable benefits. Patented in 1998, this is arguably the most advanced filling system ever developed in fountain pen history. The user is able to fill the pen with the equivalent of multiple cartridges of ink, and thanks to the two reservoirs, prevents ink from leaking during air travel.

'Hook Safe Lock': This revolutionary closing system is very satisfying to operate and was created to lock the pen body into the cap to prevent the possibility of the pen accidentally unscrewing and leaking inside a pocket or bag.

We do our best to photograph the pens to show how they will appear in person, but due to the nature of the material, there will be some variation in the pattern seen here. This adds an element of uniqueness to the pen, with no two patterns being exactly the same. We cannot honor special requests.

Amazing Writer

I am an absolute Visconti fan, however, that also means taking a slight risk on the nib experience (sadly). The first Stargazer I received had two problems: the hook safe cap didn't work not allowing closure of the pen and the 'broad' nib wrote like a fine medium. No problem though because I immediately talked to the Goulet team and they took great care of me to get a second sent out and return the defective one. The second one I received is AMAZING. The broad nib is as it should be: fat, wet, juicy, and smooth as butter. I fill it with Taccia Sabimidori which is perfect for this green resin with light blue swirls.

My first Pen to really feel like a pen.

The heft of the pen, the jewel like smoothness of the surface, THE BALANCE is perfect. It screams PRECIOUS, PRECISION, PREEMINENCE, PLEASURE the nib the Nib The NIB. Later I may look at it and think oh it's too large ( small hands) but once I pick it up write . PERFECT !!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill a fountain pen with ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It depends on the pen's filling mechanism, which you can find in the Technical Specs section above.

Here's a quick definition of the most common filling mechanisms:

  • Cartridge - A small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write! Check out our quick guide here.
  • Converter - A detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter. Here's a video for how to fill a cartridge/converter pen using a LAMY pen as an example.
  • Eyedropper - A pen that utilizes the entire barrel as a reservoir for ink. Ink is directly filled into the barrel, allowing for a high ink capacity. Here's a video on how to do it!
  • Piston - A type of filling system that uses a retracting plunger inside a sealed tube to draw ink into a pen. They are typically either twist or push-operated. These pens cannot accept cartridges or a converter, and only fill from bottled ink.
  • Vacuum - A push-style piston that uses pressure to fill the large pen body with ink. They seal the ink chamber when closed, making it ideal for flying without risk of leaking. Check out our video on how to use a vac filler here.

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.

For even more information about fountain pen cleaning, check out our Fountain Pen 101 video blog post.
