The Sailor Pro Gear "Smoothie" fountain pen series is inspired by the luscious hues found in nature's most delectable fruit and vegetable smoothie drinks. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail and featuring Sailor's renowned 21k solid gold nibs, these pens continue where the Sailor Cocktail series left off.

This collection features five vibrant colors, each evoking the essence of a refreshing smoothie. Ocean Water: Transport yourself to the serenity of the ocean with this mesmerizing shade of an aquamarine smoothie.

This Sailor Pro Gear Standard size fountain pen features a pastel turquoise resin barrel and cap, complemented by rhodium-plated accents. The flat top cap features the Sailor anchor logo inset into the top finial. It comes equipped with Sailor's legendary 21k gold nib with rhodium plating in several nib sizes. The cap screws to open/close and can push to post onto the back of the barrel when writing. The Professional Gear fountain pen comes with a Sailor proprietary converter as well as two proprietary Sailor Black ink cartridges.

Exceptional nib

I got the medium nib on mine and it is phenomenal. It's not the smoothest/softest by any means, but it's very consistent. I have a bad habit of slightly rotating my pens, which can cause skips or excessive pooling depending on the pen, but this thing I hardly even notice it. Super dependable if you have alot of writing to do daily. The pen itself is a stunning color with just the right amount of shimmer in the resin to catch the light and make the color really pop.

Beautiful pen

It's so much more beautiful than the pictures taken for the adverts show, it's dazzling and almost makes you not want to write with it. I've yet to ink it, as I've got several pens in that slot. But it feels nice to hold, the nib is brilliant, and it feels and looks like a quality pen.

Blue on Blue

I am obsessed with blue fountain pens and blue ink. This is my first Pro Gear and I am going to secretly buy more without my spouse knowing. I have this inked with diamond enchanted ocean. I even enjoy writing checks for bills with this pen. It is gorgeous.

I love this pen. It feels great in the hand and writes exactly as I want it to. The color just makes me happy!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill this fountain pen from an ink cartridge? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses proprietary Sailor ink cartridges, which are available in a wide range of colors.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.

For even more information about fountain pen cleaning, check out our Fountain Pen 101 video blog post.
