I like this ink. The sheen will require cleaning more often. The ink flows well and dries fairly fast.
The ink is pretty enough, but it crusted up really bad on the Medium cursive italic nib of my Franklin-Christoph Model 19 (see pictures). I've never experienced anything like this with any of the other dozens of inks I've used in this and other pens. It didn't initially affect the writing, but eventually the line width became erratic. The previous ink in this pen was Noodler's Blue Black, so my initial suspicion was that some residue from that caused the green sheeny crust that erupted from all sides of the nib. The little clumps in the converter as it neared depletion seemed to corroborate this. However, I thoroughly disassemble and clean my pens between inks, and others have reported crusting with this ink in online reviews and social media posts, so mine isn't a unique experience. We'll try it in other pens and nibs to see if it can be minimized or avoided, but in the meantime I'm thoroughly enjoying Lamy Violet Blackberry, which doesn't have this problem.
This ink works great and the color is even better than I expected. So far, I have used it in my Pilot Metro and have not had any issues. I highly recommend this ink if you are in the market for a dark purple. It will also last awhile, the bottle is big.
