Great Selection; Fabulous Customer Service

I bought several items in this order from Goulet Pens, and all of them are top quality items. Not only that, but because of an error on my part in ordering, I contacted Goulet Pens and spoke with Brian Goulet. The responsiveness and customer support could not have been better. I look forward to Goulet Pens being a regular 'go to' for my writing needs. Thank you!

Namiki Blue Ink

Goulet is a great place to try out new ink. This Namiki blue is a beautiful shade of blue, and it writes perfectly. The experience of shopping at Goulet is always exceptional. It feels like a group of friends, who share my passion for all things fountain pen.

Namiki vs Pilot Blue: Same-Same but Different?

My fountain-pen "menagerie" is rather small. Four, in fact: a pair of pilot Custom 823s (F & M), a Pilot Vanishing Point (F), and a Pilot Kakuno. The first three have dedicated inks for them: The F-nib 823 (Smoke, FWIW), gets Pilot Black; the M-nib 823 (Amber) gets Pilot Blue; the VP (murdered-out black) gets Pilot Blue-Black. That leaves the Kakuno, which has gotten nothing but sample-size vials of whatever various pen emporiums, Goulet included, would lay on me at a given time. But since I'm actually *using* the Kakuno more than I'd expected (seriously, this is a great little pen, and proving Pilot can do almost anything at any price-point), I wanted a decent bottle of ink just for it. It would've been funny to buy a bottle of Iroshizuku for the cheapest-by-far Pilot I own, so I nixed that one, but then I discovered that the Namiki inks were still available, and at a surprisingly-reasonable price, so I grabbed one (among a few other things, because you can't get away buying just *one* thing here, right?). The Upshot: Wonderful ink" flow, shading, dry-time all seem good to me. Haven't tested for water-resistance, but if everything else from Pilot I've used is an indication, I'd expect it to be at least acceptable. One thing, however: I've been told that Namiki Blue is virtually identical to Pilot Blue. My experience says Namiki Blue is a bit lighter in hue than Pilot's example (Note: the Pilot inks mentioned here are distinct from Pilot's Iroshizuku line of inks), and has more-distinct shading properties. And that's just fine with me: I'd actually be disappointed if the inks were dead-on identical. Recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.
