Wifes art pen

My wife loves these pens for Art!

Not good

It looks nice. I keep it on my desk as a decoration but it is always dry when I pull it out to use it. I wanted this to be my "special pen" when I have to sign important documents at work (which is several times a week) but the pen takes several tries on a separate piece of paper before I can get it to work. Then even when it is working, if I use my typical fast signature, it will almost always run dry toward the end of the signature. It's a decoration....

Love this pen

I have many fountain pens that I use to draw. Most of them have fude tips and I still love them but for a more controlled experience without being scratchy this is fast becoming my favorite.

Excellent for Urban Sketching

I'm a lefty, so I like to hold my pen like a paint brush when I sketch. This keeps my hand off the paper and the ink flowing nicely. The extra length of the Platinum Desk Fountain Pen means that I can treat it like a brush. It's perfectly balanced in this position and is lightweight, making it a great add to my bag. Plus, it happily takes Platinum Carbon cartridges, so I can travel without worries. Very highly recommended and a steal at this price!

Platinum desk fountain pen

I am a little bit disappointed. I never could get the cartridge that came in the pen to work. After replacing it with another cartridge ( that I ordered from you) it doesn't continue to flow from the nib. Very sorry I bought this pen

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill this fountain pen from an ink cartridge? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses proprietary Platinum ink cartridges, which are available in a few colors.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.

For even more information about fountain pen cleaning, check out our Fountain Pen 101 video blog post.
