The balance between medium-heavy shading and light but consistent sheening is amazing. It gives the letters a jewel-like appearance, where from one angle the sheen glows and from another the less saturated areas where the ink takes on a light sapphire hue seem to jump up to prominence. It feels three-dimensional, luxurious, but SO subtle and understated. And, like many Ink Studio colors, it echoes other favorites without being a match for any - a bit of Navajo Turquoise, a bit of Yamadori, a bit of Pelikan Topaz, but unambiguously in a class of its own. Sailor has recently become my most prized source for the best inks - painfully pricey, but so obviously thought-out and layered on a level most brands don't often attempt. One of my all-time favorites!
