Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.

Deep dark green

The Verdura ink is a very rich and dark green. There is a very slight amount of shading with an EF nib, so you might see more with wider pens. It dries fairly quick, but it's heavy on the page. Slight bleed through on Leuchtturm paper. I like it. A lot.

kind of a boring green. No shading. Bit of feathering.

R&K Verdura

I love the Rohrer and Klingner inks, I have yet to have bad luck with it. I ordered the full bottle of Verdura to use for Christmas this year. Unfortunately I waited too long, and didn't get it in time for when I needed it. Ink Drop saved the day!! I was able to use the beautiful and perfect holiday green for my needs. It's one of the few true greens that I have been able to find, and I have a lot of green options in my embarrassing ginormiss ink collection.

Well behaved on many papers

I'm basing this off of a sample from the 8 color medium greens sampler sold here. This was the least expensive ink I'm considering getting a bottle of. Many greens seem too light to me or have severe feathering issues with lower quality paper. While not dark by any means, this is also not washed out looking either. On good paper it also shows nice shading. When used for mark-ups on cheap copy paper at work, it had no spreading or feathering like many greens. It also tends to have lower than average show-through. Overall, a very good ink for mark-ups or general writing.
