Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.

Carolina Blue Ink

I purchased this to replicate the color of the UNC Tarheel when I write personal notes. I appreciated the online video’s about how to clean a fountain pen for a new inking. The ink is wonderful and is very close. Another great experience

Beautiful color

COLOR: This ink is a beautiful dusty blue (like denim), less green than Colorverse Rainy Day, and approximates the main color of Sailor Manyo Haha. On color alone, this is one of my favorites, though I am partial to blues. On 52g Tomoe River paper, 68g Tomoe River paper, and 160g Col-O-Ring paper, Dusk in Bloom shades well.FLOW: Although "fine" in Pilot runs thinner than a "fine" in Lamy, I found no issues with ink flow in a Lamy Vista (Fine, steel) and a Pilot Iro-Utsushi dip pen (Fine, steel) (see: image showing samples from both pens)SPECIAL QUALITIES: Shades well (akin to faded denim). Heavy application produces no sheen, even along the rim (see: close-up image of swatches).READABILITY: Good.

Dry

I like the color of this ink. It is just way too dry if a writer for me. Used it in broad and fine nibs and in all the different pens I tried, it just made them all feel sluggish and not as smooth to write with.

Subtle color

I went with this ink for a subtle blue ink. Great for journaling.

Light but still legible

Using in a kaweco F nib, and I can surprisingly still read everything, even on cream paper. The flow is also really nice for a lighter ink. It's a beautiful colour.
