This black resin Magnum fountain pen is one of Diplomat’s most affordable offerings. The special no-slip lacquer gives the body a soft touch, and it has a black ergonomic grip section. It comes equipped with a smooth writing JoWo stainless steel nib, chrome trim, and fills via standard international cartridge/converter (both are included).

I *love* the Diplomat feed and nib - they write GREAT...but the Magnum is just to skinny of a pen for me and seems almost too light in the hand. Writing with it hurts my big, fat, ham-hands. Here's the secret - I actually bought this pen to harvest the nib and feed to go into a "Frankenstein Pen" to solve the diameter issue. The nib and feed from this pen, after a LOT of X-Acto knife carving and sanding, is now installed into a Jinhao 9016 body. I get the really nice size grip of the 9016...with the almost unbeatable nib and feed of the Magnum. A coworker's son named it the DipliJin! And that name has stuck and it's a favorite of mine.
I've had this pen for over a year, inked with a couple of Noodler's inks, and it's not the greatest thing at this price point that I've written with. It will dry out if you don't use it. Even with an EF nib, the feed doesn't always want to keep up with a longer writing session, so I've had to prime the feed several times. The slight flex is impressive, but not really needed. Overall, I'd recommend using your wettest ink for this pen if you're still interested. I just can't give it more than 2 stars with my experiences.
Apologies to everyone who loves this pen, but I just do not. The nib flexes too much, the ink flow is inconsistent, and the material feels cheap. I understand it's a cheap pen, but plenty of brands, like Pilot and Platinum, do inexpensive without being cheap.
I got my pen in the mail today it works wonderfully and I absolutely love the little turtle sticker that came with it I have it on my laptop Thank you so much for the pan and the sticker.
It was horriblethe nib feels like its about to rip my paper at all times and the cap cracked on me the first week I had it. I have used it for about 2 weeks and now I have decided it's better left as decoration and to never touch it again. I would much rather have added a LAMY to my collection. That is what one of my teachers use and for only 9 dollars more the sculpted grip is over 10x better and the nib is so so so so much better I can't even start.. My hand hurt after using the grip on this pen for any amount of time. I really regret not getting the LAMY. In my opinion it is ideal for no one.
