Taking a moment to slow down the pace of our digital life was the inspiration for Estebrook's newest collection Back to the Lands.

The "Back to the Land" collection celebrates the 1970s era of flower power and free love, drawing inspiration from the decade's return to nature and Americana spirit. This collection is designed to appeal to those who appreciate a retro aesthetic and the hippie ethos, offering a nostalgic journey in writing through its uniquely themed products and packaging.

The Incredible Rock is crafted from brown/red acrylic with gold trim and a blue centerband, all with a classic design. As an added bonus, two free gifts are included: a magnetic pen loop in a contrasting color, and a citrus-scented air freshener.

A sleek clip provides a clean accent for the cap and slides easily into a shirt pocket. A cushion cap closure provides a secondary seal to ensure a wet point. Finally, the fountain pen is equipped with a gold #6 JoWo steel nib. The Estie fills via standard international cartridge or converter (included).

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use this pen with ink cartridges? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses standard international ink cartridges, a common size which is available in many colors from various brands.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.

For even more information about fountain pen cleaning, check out our Fountain Pen 101 video blog post.

Easy reading thickness

After watching Drew review the Esterbrook and special nibs, I wanted to treat myself. My family greatly enjoyed a summer trip to Colorado this summer and this pen reminded me of colors seen in hikes. I liked this pen so much I bought the Estie 'Funky Lake' with a Journaler nib. You will NOT be disappointed. And to top it off, I bought an ink to match the colors in this piece of petrified rock from a family trip to Petrified Forest in the early 70's. Perfect match. Absolutely adore it.

Simply a Delight

This is my first Esterbrook pen, but it will not be my last. I opted for the Scribe nib and it’s been fun learning to use it. It really shines for block letters and numbers and it’s also wonderful being able to reverse it and write with a very fine point.

Best Estie Yet!

I have two other Esties, both of which are about 5 years old. They are great pens, but this latest is amazing. The nib is as smooth as anything I have (Pelikan, Pilot, Mont Blanc, Sailor, etc., etc.) and much smoother than the earlier Estie nibs ... not that there was anything wrong with them.
Nicely weighted, as always. A pleasure to use in every way.
Bravo to all concerned!
