Just what I was looking for

I wanted a white ink for my fountain pen and all the others are listed either specifically not for fountains or are iridescent and not visible on darker paper. This De Atramentis is perfect. I loaded it in a fountain with a medium nib and have had no issues. Grateful!

My favorite yet? But disappointed about the cost of shipping (I was under the impression it was free.)

The mystery of the missing

After joning for months new ink to start drawing again with my trusty Sailor fountain pen, imagine my surprise to open the box and find a thank you card sucker/ lollipop, and no ink. I laughed out loud. This the kind of mistake l make all the time. I'm angry or have any ill will. If you find an extra bottle around I would sure would to get it. however if the mystery of missing ink is never solved, sign me up for another bottle. As Tom Waits put it:' I'd rather have bottle in front of me than frontal lobotomy.'

Too transparent

I have two types of black paper material and some colored card stock. The ink goes down white but dries nearly clear, so it won't be replacing my white gel pens. I assume there are types of paper that work with the ink better. Big thanks to Goulet Pens for offering these samples

Dries out fast

I bought this ink and a Diplomat pen to pair the two. Whenever I try to use the pen, the ink has dried out. This is the first Diplomat pen I have owned, so I'm not sure if I should blame the pen or the ink. Would not buy again.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
