50ml Bottle

Initially launched as part of the 2019 Diamine InkVent calendar and now a part of the regular Diamine Blue Edition collection, this Gold Star amber fountain pen ink features added gold shimmer. Works best with broader nibs on high quality paper to really see the shine. Comes in a 50ml glass bottle.

Due to the amount of particulate in this ink used to achieve the sparking look, you may experience restricted ink flow in some of your pens. We recommend shaking the ink thoroughly before filling and gently rolling the pen in your hands often to keep the shimmer effect consistent. This will also help prevent clogging. You will also want to be diligent about cleaning and maintaining your pen when using this ink.

Diamond Gold Star

Lovely colors and sparkle. Not great in a fountain pen. May work better with a Pilot Parallel Pen, but not great in a Conklin with a stub nib. Disappointing.

Nearly perfect

colour varies from yellow to yellow-orange to gold glitterafter 4 seconds it has dried on the paperbut! keeping the pen moving is necessary and it can produce flow problemsi think its a high-maintenance ink, best in pens with a removable feedreadibility is good in a whole text, not so great for gift-labels with only 1-2 words

Another beautiful Diamine ink

A good addition to the shimmering inks made by Diamine.

Hard to Achieve

The ink color is really pretty (not too yellow, not too red) with some color variations. If you dont want shimmer, you can let it rest for 30 seconds and skim off the top. The major issue I had with it (as to be expected with a yellow) is that I have to totally disassemble my piston filler pen to get it clean of the previous ink before filling with this ink. And even then, the slightest residue of a blue ink tucked away in a corner of the pen will result in a lime green. TBH, I've never really achieved this inks 'true' color, other than a cotton swab.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.

Is shimmering ink safe to use in fountain pens? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Yes! Shimmering ink (a fountain pen ink that has small particles of glitter mixed in) is a great way to add some flare to your writing. We have found that a larger nib will showcase more shimmering particles while writing, but you can use any nib size with shimmering ink. While it is safe to use in fountain pens, it may require a little extra maintenance.

Due to the amount of particulate in this ink used to achieve the sparking look, you may experience restricted ink flow in some of your pens, especially with finer nibs.

We recommend shaking the ink thoroughly before filling, and gently rolling the pen in your hands often to keep the shimmer effect consistent. This will also help prevent clogging.

You will also want to be diligent about regularly cleaning and maintaining your pen when using this ink.
