For this new Matte collection, Visconti started with the iconic design of the Divina and placed it in a contemporary context, freeing it from the classic silver elements. The only protagonist of this collection is the color black which, in the matte version, gives the pen a mysterious, rebellious, and sensual character. This timeless color is featured in all the metal elements of the pen, made of silver and finished in ruthenium.
The Visconti Divina Matte Black fountain pen fills with the Visconti pull and turn piston mechanism. It is completed with a ruthenium-plated 14k gold nib and Visconti's patented 'Hook Safe Lock' capping system. This pen is set in a gift box with a manual and is covered by Visconti’s 2-year warranty.

I love this pen. The design is formal and elegant while still having some pizazz from the spiral. It is a larger pen that fits my hand well. I use this as one of my daily writers. I think it looks great and works well with Yama Budo (dark pink ink). One thing to note is although it is a piston filler, it can only hold a maximum of 0.88ml of ink. This seems low for a piston filling mechanism and I find myself refilling more often than other piston pens such as the Lamy 2000 or any Twisbi. Also, since this is a piston filler without an ink window, it can unexpectedly run low on ink. All in all, I love this pen, and it is one of my favorites.
This is a beautiful pen to write with. Visually it is captivating; your eyes follow its lines. You look forward both to uncapping and capping. I am lucky enough to have this and the Homo Sapiens Dark Age. I keep them as a set. They are like distant cousins.
