Pumpkin?

Lovely color but dries a bit Orange in Fine and Med nibbed pens. Have to get another vial so when I have a stub or flex available I can see if it's just a smaller nib thing or just how it dries.

Diamine Poppy Red

Using in a Pilot Kakuno EF, Nice deep red, flows well with the EF nib. Could be the red I use as a standard.

Diamine Poppy Red

I don't know enough about the neurology of the brain that makes Diamine Poppy Red so stunning to me. I have a Krone pen with 18K Fine nib. The body is a deep orange/red, so it seemed natural to ink it with the Poppy Red. I think I will be making the pairing permanent.

Red for the holidays

Great color. It is pretty and will work well for holiday cards and for Valentines. If you want a bright, happy red, this is it.

Diamine poppy red

I had purchased a few ink samples and poppy red was one of them! Because red it a great go to color. It is a smooth ink and the dry time is short even with my broadest nib. Not a whole lot of shadding but a great bright red.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
