3oz (90ml) glass bottle of Noodler's Baystate Concord Grape fountain pen ink. Noodler's inks are handcrafted, so there may be slight color variations from batch to batch.

The Noodler's Baystate inks are slightly different formulas than conventional fountain pen inks. They are designed to be more vibrant than other inks and have a slightly basic pH-level, and as a result they are prone to staining and should not be mixed with other non-Baystate inks. If staining should occur, a solution of 10% household bleach and 90% distilled water should help. If you have any particularly rare or valuable pens, you may want to avoid using Baystate inks in them.

Love! This Ink

I love this color for writing, perfect purple color. I haven't sketched a drawing with it yet, but I intend to. I did some test swatches and it doesn't run to much so I think it will perform well for drawing purposes as well as writing.

Happy Purple

The shade is a little lighter than I expected, but it's a very nice purple. I was using purple Pilot cartridges before, and this is a little lighter, but shows up well on the page.

Beautiful ink

Concord grapes are my favorite variety, so when I saw this ink I just had to try it. I have used it in the following pens:Noodler's Ahab Platinum Preppy Fine and extra finePilot PlumixJinhao X-450. The ink was well behaved in all of these pens on standard filler paper, but only the Plumix and Preppy EF could be used on recycled copy paper as the paper isn't really good for anything but copies and ballpoint pens. On filler paper it had medium to long dry time and was very water resistant after a couple minutes dry time, just not quite bulletproof. If you clean your pens with 10% ammonia/water with a couple drops of dawn it will not permanently stain your pens, just clean them after each fill of ink runs out. The Preppy fine tip is clear and has only the faintest tinting. Grab a bottle and ink up. Be careful as the bottles are filled to the top.

Looks great!

Great color - very rich, dark purple. Bleeds through a bit more than some other inks I've used, but still very usable in a regular spiral-bound notebook. The jar was full to the brim so I spilled some (luckily just on my desk so clean-up wasn't as bad as it could have been)

Beautiful color.

So I got my Baystate grape and there was bleed through visible on the outside of the box (small circle). Not good. Inside, worse. Bottle leaked inside the box and ruined the label (yeah I'm a fan of Nathan's bottle art). Contacted Goulet Pen and another bottle was sent out to me. Can't complain when the owner of the company ships you a new bottle on his dime. The ink? Don't get it on ANYTHING you don't want it on. Not your hands or your clothes. You've been warned. Other than that I love the color and the qualities of the ink.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.
