Feathers even on good paper

I bought this ink hoping to use it on normal/cheap paper. However, it feathers a lot ā€” even on my Mnemosyne notebook. It actually feathers worse than my Pilot cartridges on copy paper. Iā€™ve heard that Noodlerā€™s is inconsistent, so I guess I got a weird batch, but Iā€™ll stick to other brands in the future.

Nice Ink with no bleeding on regular paper.

I like permanent inks that don't bleed on standard paper. I picked up this ink with a TWSB eco and it has very nice clear lines with no bleeding on regular paper. I am a calligrapher so this will be perfect for my calligraphy pens.

Noodler's X-Feather Review

This is the first ink I have used because it was bought with my first fountain pen and it does everything I could ask for. I take a lot of notes and needed an ink that would dry quickly and work well on things like Mead Five Star notebooks and regular paper and this ink does the job very well. There is never bleed through and it doesn't feather on any of the paper I have used. It is a very good ink for working with a fine nib and regular paper.

My very first and only black ink...but now ?

X-Feather was the first and only black I ever have used. This is going back to when Brian had just started his business. So really I have no comparisons. What led me to write this review is because I've been having problems with using it in my Pilot 78G fine point. I own two 78Gs both fines: one a blue and one a black. In my blue pen I have J. Herbin's Violette Pensļæ½e. Writes perfectly and stays ready to write when not used. X-Feather however! I've been having problems with my black 78G and after cleaning it, and re-trying, I find that this black ink sometimes "leaks", but is always dried out between uses. Does not flow well but then leaks all over my fingers?! Finally it dawned, in this thing I call my mind, that, duh! maybe it is the ink! So I came here to read what others have to say about X-Feather. And because I had been over at the J. Herbin section reading about Perle Noir.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.
