The Pilot Justus 95 is a fantastic instrument for all forms of paper. The ability to adjust the stiffness of the tines on the nib allow the writer to effectively avoid bleeding on lower quality American paper. The softer setting is perfect for getting that extra variation you would want for a signature or just to doodle while in a business meeting or lecture.

This pen is fantastically smooth while still responsive enough to the texture of your paper the flex of the nib is really nice for subtle line weight and when the pen is set to hard the flex is reduced enough to be used as normal hard nib over all the quality is extremely good and the included con 70 is really nice to have included over all this is a really nice pen to wright with and really captures what i wanted in a pen really happy with my purchase 110% would recommend

When I ordered this pen I was concerned that maybe I should get with the medium nib. But the fine nib works great for me. If I want a slightly wetter experience I adjust the nib to its soft setting. But it is fun to play with this pen using various settings you can get. Do I like this pen Very much! And I find it a good value.

The Goulet Pen Co. did an amazing job with my order. They got everything together and shipped it with care. The pen itself is spectacular. The line variation from the hard to soft settings is subtle, but noticeable. The difference in softness is very evident. Note that this isn't a flex nib, but gives you some unique expression in your writing. Ink flow is absolutely perfect and the fine line is a true Japanese fine. The nib adjuster almost works as an overfeed and keeps the nib saturated with ink, so I have never experienced railroading. When you set the nib to soft, the flow is slightly more generous, but does not affect the line width too much when writing without pressure. Softness and line variation is comparable to the Platinum #3776 Century soft fine nib, albeit slightly more stiff. Also very similar to what you would get with the new Jowo omniflex nibs, though the Justus 95 nib gives an overall more pleasant writing experience compared to the Omniflex and the Platinum (smoother, better flow, etc.). I've found that this pen works well on low quality paper (lab notebooks with recycled paper), making it an absolute joy to use on high quality paper (Leuchtturm 1917 bullet journal and Clairefontaine paper). The pen is surprisingly light, however this makes it perfect for both posted and unposted writing sessions. I don't feel the weight of the pen takes away from the quality factor. The ribbed body finish is quite nice and gives it an understated elegance and catches the light nicely.Overall, the Justus 95 is quite pricey for what you get, however if you are buying this solely for the nib, it is definitely worth it. I would say that it is a workhorse pen that still allows you to add a little bit of flair to your writing!
