To celebrate the most wonderful time of the year, BENU introduces two Christmas-themed fountain pens: Christmas Twinkle & Bear-y Merry Christmas. Crafted using the
traditional Christmas colors, the Christmas Twinkle pen has been produced as limited-edition, with 500 made. The Christmas Twinkle is distinguished by a captivating glow-in-the-dark effect using blue light and has a serial number engraved on the ring of the pen.

The Euphoria pen model is ergonomically designed for long periods of comfortable writing. The pen is complemented by a silver clip, and completed with a silver Schmidt #6 stainless steel nib. The cap pushes to post onto the back of the barrel when writing. This fountain pen comes with a standard international converter and two standard international short ink cartridges. You can also fill the whole barrel with ink to use as an eyedropper pen with a massive ink capacity.

We do our best to photograph the pens to show how they will appear in person, but due to the nature of the material, there will be some variation in the pattern seen here. This adds an element of uniqueness to the pen, with no two patterns being exactly the same. We cannot honor special requests.

Hard Pass

This review has nothing at all to do with how this pen writes. I am returning it immediately before inking it. I’m returning for the glaring white stripe on each side of the pen. I hoped to exchange the pen for another one but was told they all have this issue so there was no other pen of this Christmas variety to exchange for. I include photos here so I can save someone else the headache of returning it in case you don’t like the look either. If this doesn’t bother you visually I’m sure you’ll love the pen. I love my other Benus, none of which have this particular issue. But this was just a bit too glaring for me.

Lovely holiday pen!!

As usual, the purchase experience was painless and my items arrived as ordered, packaged very well! This pen is awesome and the depth of the resin is amazing, especially where the green sparkles are. It is very well balanced and writes beautifully, with the glowing ends adding a fun little touch. I was surprised by the rocker clip, which aids in putting it in the pocket. I am also quite impressed that the facets on the body and cap line up every time, even though I put no effort into trying to put the cap on a certain way. Well worth it for this fantastic Christmas pen!!

Buy this before it's gone!!!

I'm not a big Christmas person. I don't decorate or bake cookies, and I hate Christmas caroles.. But, you know, it's nice to have a little something at Christmas time with the colors to try to get me in the Christmas spirit, at least a little. And I thought the colors on this pen were nice, especially the blue. The blue added just a little something that I liked. Well, when I opened the box yesterday, I was really pleasantly surprised! This pen is lovely! I especially like how the blue sparkles drop down into the white , and are on the top of the cap. I actually felt happy to be holding this pen. I am looking forward to next Christmas time when I will pull it out to use. Who knows? I might pull it out in July for a Christmas in July festivity! The Euphoria is my favorite BENU model. It's comfortable for my large hand. And the Broad nib is nice and smooth, with no hard starts or skips. This is a great pen. I'm going to keep using it until the ink is gone. Then I will put it away until Christmas enters my head again. I am very happy that I bought it. Maybe I won't be such a Scrooge next year! (I'm not really a Scrooge. I think I just have issues!! :-)

FAQs about Fountain Pens

How do I fill a fountain pen with ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It depends on the pen's filling mechanism, which you can find in the Technical Specs section above.

Here's a quick definition of the most common filling mechanisms:

  • Cartridge - A small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write! Check out our quick guide here.
  • Converter - A detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter. Here's a video for how to fill a cartridge/converter pen using a LAMY pen as an example.
  • Eyedropper - A pen that utilizes the entire barrel as a reservoir for ink. Ink is directly filled into the barrel, allowing for a high ink capacity. Here's a video on how to do it!
  • Piston - A type of filling system that uses a retracting plunger inside a sealed tube to draw ink into a pen. They are typically either twist or push-operated. These pens cannot accept cartridges or a converter, and only fill from bottled ink.
  • Vacuum - A push-style piston that uses pressure to fill the large pen body with ink. They seal the ink chamber when closed, making it ideal for flying without risk of leaking. Check out our video on how to use a vac filler here.

How do I clean a fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It depends on the filling mechanism, but it mostly comes down to flushing it out with water, and sometimes a little bit of Pen Flush if the ink is really stuck.

It's a bit easier to show than to tell, so we've put together a few quick videos showing you the process:

How often do I need to clean my fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors.

Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.

My pen won’t write! What do I do? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

First things first... make sure you have ink in the pen! Be sure that the ink cartridge or converter is seated properly in the pen, and that you aren't out of ink.

We always recommend you give your pen a good cleaning first, using our Goulet Pen Flush, or a drop of dish soap in some water. New pens often have some machining oil residue left in the feed, so a good cleaning often does the trick first.

If that still doesn't work, try priming the feed. This consists of either dipping your pen nib and feed in ink, or forcing ink from the converter down into the feed.

If it’s still not working after that, please reach out to us so we can help!

What's your return policy? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B
