The Kaweco Liliput is a tiny fountain pen that when posted transforms into a full-sized pen that easily fits in your hand. This steel fountain pen features an amazing finish - each pen is hand-torched, which gives it a unique pattern of colors ranging from blue to purple to brown. Every pen is different! It comes with a stainless steel nib and an ink cartridge to get you started writing right away! The cap screws on to the back to post securely, and it accepts short standard international cartridges. Optional clip sold separately.

Note: This pen comes with an ink cartridge stored in the body. If it doesn’t fall right out, you can get it loose by giving the body a few solid taps on a hard surface.

Great Pen!

I recently bought the Kaweko Liliput Fireblue in a fine nib. I love the pen and it's so much smaller than I expected, which I love. The one downside is that you can't get a converter for this pen. . . and it's rather pricey. It's now my favorite pen of my small collection and I would 100% recommend!!

Liliput Fireblue

My new all time favourite pen. The colour is beautiful and unique. The cap is satisfying to screw on when both closing and posting the pen. It's truly tiny when closed but posted it fits perfectly in the hand just like any full sized pen. The nib writes smooth and reliably. The only thing I wish it had would be the ability to fit a converter. I emptied and cleaned out a cartridge then filled it with Organic Studios Walden. It works fine in the pen but is a bit of a hassle. Other than that this pen is perfect.

Magnificent little performer

I had admired the fireblue finish and sleek industrial design for some time. Goulet was out of stock, and when they received more, I had to purchase one. I was prepared for the diminutive size, but it's a really tiny little pen... length of a golf pencil. The size makes for ease of pocket carry. However, I am concerned about scratching it on my keys or losing it, so I simply slip it into a Rickshaw pen sleeve. I usually never carry my pens uncased anyway. The cap posts easily though I am gentle and ensure the threats are aligned. But make no mistake, this is a well-built little bullet. Posted, it provides for enough length for comfortable writing, even with my larger hands. The posted end just protrudes from the web of my thumb. If anything, the circumference makes extended writing more awkward. It would not be my first choice for longer writing sessions, but I have used it with ease for consistent notetaking in 2+ hour meetings. It's also weighted perfectly for its size, just heavy enough to offset the small dimensions. The tiny nib will dry a little if left uncapped for a longer period. Not enough to hard start... just a little dusty. This is solved by unposting the cap and putting it back on the nib end by a threat or two. It may sound inconvenient, but really the pen is so small it's simple to do and attracts attention to the Lilliput in meetings. I opted against the pocket clip- so it could be a roller when put down. If left lying unattended, I just insert one end back into the Rickshaw sleeve.Being such a tiny instrument, it seemed appropriate to go with an extra fine nib. The nib turned out to be the best part of the pen. Out of the box, it was a very hard starter the first time nib met paper. I had to milk the first cartridge with considerable pressure to get ink into the feed. For half of that first cartridge it was a scratchy writer... then it settled down to provide consistent, needle thin but juicy lines of ink. I am on my third cartridge of Kaweco ink and have had not one problem hard starting or skipping. The line is so fine I can use it for detailed tiny lettering on maps and charts. Yet, I can fast sign documents without a skip. It's the best EF nib in my collection. For EDC and casual note taking, this is a fantastic pocket pen. Its appearance is strikingly beautiful and the nib is a magnificent little performer. The disadvantages may be the price for the size of the pen, and the fact there are no available converters that fit it. However, much of the allure in the expensive firebluing is that each finish is individual to each pen. No two are alike! I also have a few Goulet syringes and can refill the disposable cartridges with any bottled ink I choose. For large-handed gentlemen, the Lilliput may be small. But paired with a small folding knife, I can not think of a more indispensable pocket companion.

Stunning, an easy writer and fits a slim hand!

I love the look of this pen and while I had to get used to a Kaweco that had a screw mount to cap it rather than just sitting, it is a very handsome addition to the stable of Kawecos. The stable have all been Sports or AL Sports, so this slim beauty makes for another smooth writing experience!

This is a really lovely and dainty pen

I'm so glad I ordered this pen. It's beautiful and smaller than other pens. I have small hands so it's great for me but I've also seen others with larger hands say it's one of their favorite pens too. I purchased it to use as my 'house' pen so use it to write notes and make the prettiest grocery lists I've ever made. There was one tiny flaw in the finish but not big enough to be worth contacting the company about. These things happen and I usually chalk them up to small imperfections add uniqueness and character to an object.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use this pen with ink cartridges? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses standard international ink cartridges, a common size which is available in many colors from various brands.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.
