The TWSBI GO is the most affordable TWSBI fountain pen yet! A unique feature of this model is the spring loaded piston. This pen has a translucent smoke grey body and clear grip section, so you can see your ink and the spring piston mechanism at work, and has a clipless push/snap cap. It is incredibly easy to fill this pen from bottled ink - simply unscrew the barrel to access the plunger, submerge the pen’s nib down into the ink, press down on the piston to compress the spring, and it will fill the barrel with ink! Screw the barrel back on and you’re ready to write. It is completed with a silver stainless steel nib.

This pen writes a little more dry than my other fountian pens, but that isn't bad. I haven't had any hard starts, and I don't have any issues with it, it's just not as WET as every other pen I write with. It's one of my daily drivers, and u highly recommend it b

A unique pen. TWSBI is very much marching to their own drummer, but in a good way. Good enough to be copied. That says something

This is my second fountain pen and I think it's worth the money.

Great for hands with painful grip issues

I'm enjoying this TWSBI GO a lot! I have issues with gripping a pen due to carpel tunnel and minor arthritis. Narrow heavy pens like Pilot Metropolitan are painful for me. The GO with its slightly wider girth and softer grip section is just what I need. Those features allow me to write comfortably for longer periods of time. The filling mechanism is so easy and the ink capacity is an added bonus. I wish I had known about TWSBI GO sooner. I would have bought more of these and skipped the Metropolitans. It won't win any beauty contests but it is a favorite because I can use it daily comfortably.

TWSBI GO

This little pen is amazing!!! I love the writing experience it provides. It is one of, if not the absolute, smoothest writing pens in my collection. With the price point it is at and the quality of the pen, it is an amazing beginner pen. I have recommended it to everyone I know that use fountain pens and a lot of people that don't... Lol...absolutely amazing!!!!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill a fountain pen with ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It depends on the pen's filling mechanism, which you can find in the Technical Specs section above.

Here's a quick definition of the most common filling mechanisms:

  • Cartridge - A small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write! Check out our quick guide here.
  • Converter - A detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter. Here's a video for how to fill a cartridge/converter pen using a LAMY pen as an example.
  • Eyedropper - A pen that utilizes the entire barrel as a reservoir for ink. Ink is directly filled into the barrel, allowing for a high ink capacity. Here's a video on how to do it!
  • Piston - A type of filling system that uses a retracting plunger inside a sealed tube to draw ink into a pen. They are typically either twist or push-operated. These pens cannot accept cartridges or a converter, and only fill from bottled ink.
  • Vacuum - A push-style piston that uses pressure to fill the large pen body with ink. They seal the ink chamber when closed, making it ideal for flying without risk of leaking. Check out our video on how to use a vac filler here.

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.

For even more information about fountain pen cleaning, check out our Fountain Pen 101 video blog post.
