Great texture but minimal sheen

I have filled up a few of these as a part of my daily journaling regime, and they've been great. The paper has a slightly rough texture which I prefer due to the feedback that it provides even with the smoothest nibs. I find that with paper that is too smooth, it is like writing on glass which in turn makes writing a bit less controlled. But with these notebooks I find that the rougher texture provides a sort of "grip" that I enjoy. The ivory/off white color is only just enough to differentiate it from a regular white paper, but doesn't have that severely yellow color that you find in something like a Rhodia ivory. These things along with the little features such as the labels for archiving, the pocket, having page numbers and the pocket make these little things great. The only caveat I have found after writing in a Maruman Mnemosyne notebook which I had purchased for school, along with some cheapy office depot graph paper, is that the sheening and shading qualities of this paper are really not fantastic. Granted, this isn't the case with every ink, but I have found for the most part that for most inks you will not see every quality and hue brought out by this paper, which I find to be disappointing. Writing on any other paper has shown me what I have been missing as far as more nuanced qualities go, and I'm sad that I can't experience that in what I have determined to be my favorite notebook thus far. But regardless it's still a good notebook and I wouldn't recommend against buying one. The attached photo just shows some various ink swabs, the sample of Organics Studio nitrogen was very, very noticeable.
