In order to better organize his own life, New York designer Ryder Carroll initially developed a method that would easily adapt to his personal needs. A ground-breaking idea, which can be easily applied and has therefore been adopted by people around the world.

Generated in an intensive exchange with the international BuJo community, Leuchtturm1917 has designed new features and extras that make self-organization even more individual and creative. The result of this cooperation is the new Bullet Journal® – Edition 2.

This medium A5-sized black Leuchtturm1917 thread-bound hardcover notebook is equally suited for the desk and for use on the move. The thicker 120g pages are numbered and have a 5mm dot grid ruling.

Special notebook features include: page divider for quick grouping of pages; detachable Bullet Journal® pocket guide in English; grid guide in the inside cover; a set of stickers featuring days of the week, months and much more; three ribbon page markers; Index, Future Log and 206 numbered pages; an elastic enclosure band; a gusseted inner pocket for small souvenirs, notepads or cards; stickers for labelling and archiving; and a blind embossing "Bullet Journal" on the cover.

Loads better than the previous version

This notebook is almost perfect for me now. The paper is thicker and doesn't bleed through like the older version. The grid in the beginning is useful and the gentle marks show half and thirds on each page make making my layouts easier. I don't notice much feathering, but I use a fine nib.

Official' version would be great for beginners

The thing that drew me to bullet journaling in the first place was not being tied into a specific amount of space for specific days or weeks, and of course this version can accommodate that perfectly but then again so did my homemade version. I think this would be especially useful for someone who is just starting to bullet journal, because it does provide some handy guidance without forcing anyone into a specific structure as traditional planners do.

Bullet Journal ver 2.0

First, let me say that Goulet Pens took absurd care in packing and shipping the bullet journal. OMG, if every company were to take this care and attention to detail, the world would be in a better place. I have been using my own version of a bullet journal for over 40 yrs, and when I found the official bullet journal, I tried it. It was good, but being a fan of Rhodia paper, I have found the Goal Book to be superior for MY purposes. When BJ ver 2 came out, I ordered from BJ company, they claimed they shipped it, but I never got it, despite numerous emails to them, so when Goulet offered it, I had to buy one. I KNEW that Goulet would get it to me! Initial thoughts on ver 2.... The Rhodia is better in having full future calendars in the front of the book, without me having to create my own. Both Rhodia goal book and the official BJ offer page numbers, which is handy for the index. Paper quality seems better in BJ ver 2 than the original. The various stickers for months, days and dates seem like they will be handy for setting up the journal, without having to hand write everything. Overall, I'm excited to start using this journal, but will have to wait until next quarter, as my GoalBook is set up until then. I do use 4 books/yr as I fill them with everything in my life, so October isn't so far away, I can wait. The most important thing to know is that Goulet Pens are awesome in their attention to detail in both correspondence as well as shipping. We will see how the BJ ver 2.0 goes once it is in actual daily use.
