Herbin Rose Cyclamen

I don't get into all the different tests for ink, but OH. MY. GOSH. the color!!! I love it, and it may have just edged out my "signature" color (Noodler's Ottoman Rose).

Fabulous shade of Rose!

This is not your average pink-rose color, nor is it an electric rose. The closest I can get to describing it would be a royal rose. It has a depth and and color to it that is similar to the feeling I get looking at a beautiful clear, crisp New Mexican sky or a clear fall New England day in the white mountains kind of color; only a royal pink rose color. It lays down on the paper just beautifully, especially with the whitest of white paper. I love it (can you tell)?

My favorite ink so far

I ordered this along with a number of other samples in the magenta range, and while I'd classify this more as an electric red-violet, it's a stand out. When compared to the other magenta inks I sampled, Rose Cyclamen leaps off the page. It's lighter and brighter than De Atramentis Dianthus and compared to Noodler's Burgundy and Iroshizuku Yama-Budo, it leans more to the pink side than the purple. Based on the sample, I bought a bottle of this and have it loaded in my Jinhao 599 M. I'm impressed with the J. Herbin inks I've tried so far. Their Rose Cyclamen and Perle Noir are my current favorites.

Beautiful Bold Pink

I bought this a short while ago as I wanted to try a bright pink and based on the pictures it looked like it was. I was not disappointed. It is a beautiful bold pink and I enjoy using it on my greeting cards. Once I run out of my sample, I will definitely purchase a bottle.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

The technique depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial, or watch the video here:

How much writing can I really do with 2ml? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our ink samples, or one good fill with a large capacity piston-filling pen.

How much writing you can do depends on you more than anything else. It mostly depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.
